Welcome to the Georgian Cultural Center PESVEBI in New York. Since 2000, we have introduced traditional Georgian dance, song, and music to families across the United States — keeping one of the world's oldest cultures alive for a new generation growing up far from home.
Our roots
"Pesvebi" means "roots." That is exactly what we set out to give Georgian children born in America — roots: a living connection to their language, their music, and the dances their grandparents knew. Over more than two decades, thousands of children have grown up in our center, and many have become professional dancers.
A professional ensemble
Our teachers are top-level professionals. Each year our ensemble — with members across several states — performs at hundreds of concerts of Georgian dance, singing, music, and theater, both in the United States and across Europe.
In 2000, I founded the Georgian Cultural Center Pesvebi — a non-profit organization — to introduce traditional Georgian culture to the United States.
